Im consistently running into a specific issue and it is that when instances have no “cancel” button I cannot move back from any post I clicked on unless the text box is completely empty. Having “cancel” as an option seemingly prevents this yet many instances do not seem to include this.
Where this becomes a bigger problem is if I hit “create post” or “share” by accident. If that happens the only way to resolve this is close the page and browser. This is essentially why I almost never contribute posts.
So what community is the best place for this? Fediverse says they aren’t a complaints/bugs forum.
Thanks
Bugs are usually reported on github, in your case the https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy-ui one under the “issues” tab I think. Make sure to read the prompts given. If it’s not a bug or a feature request, https://lemmy.ml/c/lemmy_support might be a better place.
Thanks!
The answer to your direct question, I don’t know.
But the issue you’re having seems more a browser thing to me. It’s the browser that warns you if you try to leave a page with an uncompleted form or text box.
There’s no browser warning. I simply cannot leave the page at all unless I erase any text in the text box for posts and there’s no fix for the “create” situation
Still sounds more like a browser problem.
Have you tried different browsers?
Which browser are you using? That might be the case as it is Safari
I am using Safari on MacOS and tested this. I put a single space in a text box and then pressed the back button and got a dialog asking if I was sure if I wanted to leave the page.
On ios so that might be the difference. Im not getting a popup.
I am getting your same behavior on iOS too.
