I’m surprised that its only 30 microns. The current govt seemed very adamant about removing plastic shopping bags waste. Although in my experience the most common shopping bags in the Ethiopia are much thinner than other countries (I would guess that they are probably only 30 microns) it would just mean the plastic producers would just shift to creating thicker bags
How is single use defined here? Because some places do “single use is anything below 5nm thickness” and you uusy end up with more plastic.
Edit: seems anything above 30 microns is still legal which basically means only cling wrap and similar. Shopping bags on avg are 50 microns or so.
