I love that there are people like you who have the kerbal science down. I still try to get into orbit by strapping more solid fuel rockets on and smashing that space bar. I recently became quite skilled at getting up to 12 people into orbit and back down again because, goddamnit, it pays the bills for all the failed missions to the other side of the planet to take thermometer readings.
I’d have to go look up the exact wording, and it’s on my drive that I don’t have hooked up right now. GFCI was required for any outlet in a bathroom, but there was still a ban up until the most recent edition on any outlet within the… shoot, the word/phrase escapes me, something like ‘shower space,’ which includes the area with four horizontal feet of the edge of the bathtub. I have a toilet right next to the shower/tub combo, and a door next to the toilet, which meant no outlet allowed near the toilet and thus no electrically powered bidet.
I’m just happy that the newest electrical code is allowing electrical outlets closer to bathtubs. Otherwise I’d never be able to have a powered bidet on my toilet.

Because the man was legally in possession of them at the time. It’s the same reason that you have to go through a tedious process to have your car reported stolen if you let someone borrow it and don’t bring it back.

Meanwhile, my dog is so stupid, he’ll jump onto slippery vinyl floors from couches and chairs. I’ve actually seen him slip, fall sideways and body slam into the ground. I found him limping one time and I’m reasonably sure it was from jumping off the couch, which is when I finally put my foot down and blocked him from jumping up onto it. Built a little ramp instead.

The formula calculates out somewhere between $17-20k once she turns 62 in another nine years. Not a lot, but a very decent chunk to add to everything else.

It’s a lovely little combo of desperation and digging themselves into a hole. Most of the elements of sovereign citizens come from people who are not in good situations, as outlined by the canadian court’s very thorough opinion (which has already been linked twice in this thread, so I won’t bother it again). Once you’re in it, the same situation occurs that you can see with people in cults, mlm companies, or ponzi schemes. Maybe if you keep going, and pushing through the pain right now, you’ll get that mythical payoff. The alternative is to face the fact that you’ve likely ruined your life, rendering impossible whatever you hoped to achieve in the legal system in the first place.

Are you aware of how the mandatory reporting laws came into being? It is absolutely fucked up beyond belief. Anyone who doesn’t report these sorts of crimes has no ethics.

The prisons that hold death row inmates are not private, for-profit companies. The numbers have been falling steadily and are incredibly low. Still a problem, because that number is high enough to have stupid amounts of influence, but it has nothing to do with death penalty costs. Those are all because we afford death row inmates a large amount of appeals, which costs ‘lawyer money’ where some prosecuting lawyer pretends he wasn’t on a salary and they claim it’s worth X hours x Y wage, and the defense attorney does the same but with a little more truth because he is getting paid by the hour.
Yeah, including not paying me for work and expecting gratitude for it. Fuck that.
