As someone living in America I have been in mental and physical decline for years. I was born in the 21st century. Our wealth is drawn from blood, from here and abroad.

I know everyone’s jumping on this, but Trump yelling “EAT THE TARIFFS”, in addition to being meaningless, is also quite in-line with the neolib/neoconservative presumption that companies will do the right thing for people.

Bernie’s platform of Medicare for All, a $15 living wage, covering eye care and dental under Medicare… those all would be written into law. Encouraging Walmart to eat the tariffs is like trusting a corpo to pay workers a living wage.

People might be forced to stop paying for these services, at least at their current prices. The recession might force the needed step back from consumerism. If the average person has 4 streaming services, and tightens their bet to “just” 1, that’s a 3/4ths reduction in subscribers across the industry.

With all these reactionaries - Ye, JK Rowling, PragerU, Heritage Foundation, etc - We need to stop cross-posting their hate speech. All that does is risk spreading their views. Absolutely Horrible. I was already struggling due to ADHD, but since November I’ve felt completely awful. Some days I feel “I’m in the end of times” and force myself to indulge in games and food, but it never makes me feel better. Other days I run myself into the ground trying to plan some way to fight back. My next “to-do” is getting a pistol, but that’s hard in my state.

The only upside is I have felt less socially anxious about reaching out to new people. Having a real existential crisis does cause those fears of “what if they think I’m annoying” to subside.

I’d like to know why those 2 Republicans voted “no” when every Democrat voted “yes”.
