Lukoil in the USA is American owned (as a franchise) and operated and does not use Russian oil. We don’t import any Russian oil to the US. Some money does go overseas but Lukoil is (nominally) a private company so seems to have avoided sanctions. Overall I’d say there are bigger fish to fry.

…that isn’t what a recession means. I mean decreasing buying power is concerning but there are lots of times when that can happen when the economy is hot. In fact, a weakening economy can lead to deflation which increases buying power.
I read to my fiance pretty much every night, we both really enjoy it. Yeah I found that to be pretty annoying as well when I started. I don’t mind the occasional political post but it’s the same handful of talking points again and again so it gets old fast. I recommend just blocking users and blocking communities; you’d be surprised how quickly that clears them out. Lemmy is small enough that once you block a dozen or two people that post politics nonstop you give the other content room to breathe.
