  • One answer per paragraph, let’s break it down.

They absolutely have learned a lot by flying the prototypes. They caught one of the largest 1st stages ever made with the freaking launch tower, twice!

The entire cost of the starship program so far is much less than the Saturn V, adjusted for inflation. They can keep blowing them up by the dozens and it’ll still take years to get to the Saturn V budget.

They did transfer fuel between tanks in space a few flights back as a small scale demo, the hardware exists.

Corruption definitely exists within the government. However, let’s not kid ourselves by believing the starship is being funded for the lunar or Martian missions. They’re being funded because they can deliver hundreds of tons of military payload anywhere on the planet within minutes.

The last launch did reuse a booster that was caught 2 launches ago. Starship reuse will come once they can reliably send it, which will probably take a few more catastrophic failures.

If you want to talk about failure rates, how about the Falcon 9, the most successful platform ever made? Also the invention of modern computer science thing was mostly on DARPA at that point for military applications.

  • Making a fool of myself on purpose and laughing along. Karaoke bars, stand-up comedy open mic nights, improv theater.

It helps you see that people can’t really see behind each other’s “mask” all that well. All confidence is made up, so play along and it just sort of materializes.

Another way to do that is to try and become fluent in a new language. You build a different persona for each language you use, so might as well become confident in the new one on purpose.

Greece did something similar a few years ago.

The Golden Dawn far right wing party was declared a criminal organization (after some violence that lead to a few stabbings and at least one death) and their leaders were thrown in jail.

From the ashes of Golden Dawn and a few other populist/Christian conservative/nationalist parties rose a few new ones, with more careful rhetoric and open support from the now jailed golden dawn leaders and high ranking church ministers.

They are collectively holding 26 of the 300 seats in the parliament and are expected to get better results on the next election cycle.

You can ban them all you want, they can still reform into a “we are not far right, wink wink” party after the ban itself verifies their far right status and rise to power all the same.

  • The colors look amazing, well done!

I’ve had the same issue with those red streaks. I’ve seen a massive reduction to them by using a lens heating strip to eliminate dew sitting on the lens.

Also make sure your white balance isn’t set to auto.

You can somewhat get rid of them in photoshop:

Select by brightness, select something very bright to get all the nebula and stars selected, then select inverse to select only dark sky, feather a few pixels and then go to color adjustment and darken the red channel a bit until the streaks aren’t visible or generally better.

    Hope it helps!
