At my last workspace listening in on the call recordings (which were binding agreements with clients) was only allowed with the employee giving the ok and no way to force it, with a strong union support preventing retaliation against employees.

I would make a case for creation of datasets by a international institution like the UNESCO. The used data would be representative for world culture, and creation of the datasets would have to be sponsored by whoever wants to create models out of it, so that licencing fees can be paid to creators. If you wanted to make your mark on global culture, you would have an incentive to offer training data to UNESCO.

I know, that would be idealistic and fair to everyone. No way this would fly in our age.

I’m like you regarding my windows and what goes where, and KDE Plasma is a godsend. You can define window behavior like which window goes on which virtual desktop, what monitor and whatever size; which should stay on top and which below or can remove title bars and set transparency. after defining the window rules just put everything you need into autostart. reboot and see the magic happen ;-)

I’m shocked! Well, not that shocked.

But i’m more interested how this plays out US-internally; the MIC is probably not too pleased with losing sales because US-produced gear is not trustworthy anymore, and the Trump presidency is not even 10% done yet. The MIC is also the largest employer in the US with around 3 million employees in the Department of Defense alone, not calculating anyone in the private sector. That can’t be good for the current admin.
