I don’t know about elsewhere but the local Salish peoples would shear specially bred dogs with very light fur. Something like Samoyed fur, but more fine. They’re probably extinct now.
I wonder if the ecology is out of balance, leading to larger mosquito populations than people would have seen a few thousand years ago. If the bird and bat population were five times, ten times larger, or if the swamps were less foul from plants adapted to the area (instead of invasives), maybe that would have made the problem less severe.
That’s a lot worse than I thought it would be. Yikes. That’s a good reason to wear a few extra layers. And maybe some netting. And maybe acquire a flamethrower.
So that NFB short is an accurate description eh?
Thank goodness for distro repositories with somewhat-vetted software.

Dude kicks a bunch of rocks down a hill and complains that the avalanche isn’t going the way he wanted? Fuck him. He gets the metaphorical guillotine with the rest. Or maybe the literal one, if the avalanche goes hard enough.
That’s the trouble with revolution, you can’t predict the outcome. The fundamental flaw of accelerationism. Your side might come out on top, but it might not. Big ole reset button drenches everyone in blood.

Giving devs a bad taste will stay around a long while.
Edit: and of course the well-earned general attitude toward cryptocurrency as scammer playgrounds is automatically putting it way in the red too.
It’s an old joke, but it still checks out.
