and mod muted for a month for no reason.
Internet forum user knowingly breaks rule. Gets banned. News at 11.
I’ve reviewed the community rules of PoliticalHumor and, unless suicide counts as violence because it is self-harm, no rule was broken. As it stands the multiple mentions of violence in the rules are ambiguous.
unless suicide counts as violence
What? Of course it does. Overcoming a bodies’ will to life is an inherently violent act. No amount of consent or dignity will change that. And the Scandinavian escape pods are hardly the norm. Both people I know ate pistols.
there are forms of suicide that just involve stopping the breathing process or the heart, of which neither is violent. Rules regarding violence should always be conservative in their application, aka if there is a non-violent interpretation why wouldn’t that be the intent.
I agree, RFK should stop telling people to kill themselves by ignoring modern medicine.
Odd. Cause nazis are not people anyway. So that “rule” cannot apply.
No, even Nazis are people. They may be horrible people whose hateful ideology needs to be forcefully purged from society, but they are still people.
Do you know how otherwise same people turn out just as bad as Nazis? It starts by dehumanizing their opponents.
(That’s not necessarily a statement in favor of the Reddit action, that was likely done by a bot anyway so no humans were involved.)
I agree. Human rights and dignity are not negotiable. Not for mass murderers, rapists, Nazis, or Jeff Bezos. Not for anyone. Disagree, oppose, undermine, fight, but do not ever dehumanise.
Mod muted for a month isn’t for no reason. They likely have a zero tolerance policy about this and don’t want to hear from you about it because they will not reconsider.
I’m not really sure that moderators moderating is particularly notable.
I got banned from there for cross posting.
For the best due to how awful most of their humor is
