Vance Boelter accused of killing legislator Melissa Hortman and her husband, and wounding John Hoffman and his wife
The man suspected of opening fire on two Minnesota legislators and their spouses on 14 June, killing one legislator and her husband, was apprehended late on Sunday night and charged with two counts of murder and two of attempted murder, the state’s governor, Tim Walz, said at a news conference.
Vance Boelter, 57, is suspected of fatally shooting the Democratic state representative Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, at their residence early on Saturday. Boelter is also suspected of shooting the state senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, at their home, seriously injuring them.
“One man’s unthinkable actions have altered the state of Minnesota,” the state’s governor, Tim Walz, said at a news conference.
And the terrorism charges?
He didn’t kill CEOs.
That’s reserved for for shooting healthcare CEO’s
He’s white.
And he targeted Democrats.
God forgives all who ask for forgiveness
Which god? There’s thousands of them.
God isn’t real, let’s stick to reality
Then lets get him an audience with God
Ghosts aren’t real.
I should have added the /s I thought the stupidness of murdering someone then quickly asking for forgiveness and then being absolved of those awful crimes would be /s enough but I guess there really are people who think like that.
Part of the problem I have with this form of interaction is that every comment exists in isolation. There’s no identity behind them. If we knew you, and were familiar with your posting history and thoughts, we’d probably pick the sarcasm straight away, but without actually going and checking, and who has the time to do that for every comment, we can only take the words in front of us at face value.
I generally find it easier to assume someone is joking when making such comment on Lemmy than on Reddit, which has, let’s call it a broader audience, but we can’t know for sure, and there’s a lot of looneys or there that do genuinely believe such idiocy.
As such, subtle sarcasm can be misinterpreted as a genuine opinion. In those cases, it’s better to make the sarcasm as unsubtle as possible. The /s is a bit crude, but there’s plenty of creative ways to express it.
Unfortunately, yea there are people that are that way. A recently public scandal, Christian music singer, Michael Tait has been accused of sexually assaulting under age boys for years. His statements were more verbose but very similar to what you said.

So when are we going to start calling the terrorist a terrorist?
When he kills a billionaire I guess
Don’t be silly, it’s not like he killed a health care executive or anything.
Second-degree is a fucking joke. Dude had a list, that’s enough to prove premeditation. Even setting aside the easily provable terrorism charge (which would also elevate to first degree)
On Monday, the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office in Minnesota said it will seek first-degree murder charges against Vance Boelter, noting that it is common practice for the office to initially charge second-degree murder to secure a warrant as quickly as possible, as it did in this case.
Where terrorist
Oh they got him
