during the sketch show’s goodnights, Myers’ slogan tee — unveiled after he unzipped his vest — was accompanied by the actor mouthing “elbows up,” a reference to Canadian hockey icon Gordie Howe’s slogan toward aggressive opponents on the ice.

“Fascism doesn’t like to be ridiculed; it likes to be feared,” he concluded. “Satire is an important tool in the toolbox to say that this is not normal — that the cuts [Elmo]’s making are not normal.”

As a fellow Canadian, I’m 100% behind Mike using the platform he had to convey that message. Tons of respect for it.

Canadian artists need to start acting like they mean it and come back to Canada to produce Canadian content. Anglo Canadians want to prove they aren’t just Americans with healthcare? They have to prove that they have their own culture. Quebec and the King can’t be the only things that makes Canada special compared to the US if it wants to stay independent from it.

The freedom to ridicule is fundamental to keep hate out of the mainstream. Fascism feeds off of fear and hate, and the best cures to them are comedy and comradery.

You see it all over the world and history. Anywhere fascism is going strong, the people fear and hate like no other. But when people are filled with positive vibes, they come together and work together for the betterment of all rather than bring each other down which ends up bringing themselves down.

Hate doesn’t belong in Canada, just like how fascism doesn’t belong here.

Along with Mike Myers, we need Wayne Campbell back. Myers has many times that Wayne was Canadian in character although the lore had to say he was from Aurora, Illinois because he needed to be American to get into SNL. Make up a new storyline that he was born in Canada to Canadian parents who moved to the states when he was young or something.

Speaking of which, we need the MacKenzie brothers back too. Bring back Great White North. Coo-ooo-coo-coo-coo-coo-coo-cooooo…. Coo-ooo-coo-coo-coo-coo-coo-coooooooooo….

Myers has said the character is based on his experiences growing up in and around Toronto and started developing the character long before bringing it to SNL.

As for which Aurora, from the first movie:

My name is Wayne Campbell. I live in Aurora, Illinois, which is a suburb of Chicago. Excellent! … Okay, I still live with my parents, which I admit is both bogus and sad, but at least I’ve got an amazing cable access show, and I still know how to party.

Hes just going to ignore the damage the Liberals have done the last 10 years?

Worst per capita GDP growth compared to the other 37 countries in the OECD, of course leading to stagnant wages for which we imported mass immigrants to artificially boost GDP, that the UN then defined as modern slavery due to inhumane living conditions. Then scandal after scandal, with even Carney himself recently avowing a person who said we should ship a Canadian tweeting in Canada to China for speaking out against the CPC.

Canada deserves what we get if we elect the Liberals again. More foreign funded Hereditary chiefs blocking pipelines, more debt spent on consumption and consultants to hide falling economic growth, and higher home prices as Carney himself said he would do nearly double what Harper was doing a decade ago during an extreme housing crisis. The poor will be ground to dust and you will blame Trump as if these problems hadnt existed long before his tariffs went in barely 3 months ago.
